Howard Burton, host and creator of Ideas Roadshow, will be sharing stories and experiences from his encounters with some of the world’s most creative thinkers.
Howard is passionate about making cutting-edge research accessible to a wide audience. He holds a Ph.D. in physics and an M.A. in philosophy, and was the founding executive director of Canada’s Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics from 1999-2007. He is the author of two books: First Principles: Building Perimeter Institute and Burning Down UNESCO: A Guide to Innovative Fundraising.
During his tenure at Perimeter Institute, Howard created an extensive range of outreach vehicles to best communicate scholarly ideas to non-specialists of all levels. From these experiences he learned to appreciate the unique potential of informal conversations to accessibly combine leading insights with inside glimpses of the lifestyles and motivations of professional researchers. This led him to create Ideas Roadshow, an innovative multi-disciplinary platform of videos, eBooks, MP3’s and teaching modules developed from in-depth conversations between Howard and a wide variety of world leading thinkers.
Ideas Roadshow has currently produced over 500 videos and 80 eBooks with leading experts across a wide range of subject areas, with a wealth of new content being released regularly. All videos can be purchased individually, while personal subscriptions are available for $10/month or $100/year. All eBooks are available on Amazon. Institutional subscriptions of specially-curated Ideas Roadshow content are offered through our Academic, High School, and Public Library portals.
